I enjoy using Instagram, its such a simple way of adding another dimension to your smart phone pics, however I recently found myself wondering how to apply filters without sharing them. Some times you may want multiple pictures of your kids without boring your followers, or just want some privacy in our ever so social world! …

Well it was simpler than I thought! All you have to do is put your phone in airplane mode. Follow the normal edit process…the upload will fail (so delete it) but the photo will still be saved in your photo album. awesome…

The shot below “the walk to breakfast”… Koh Mook, Thailand, using the “Rise” filter. Looking out at a snowy / raining 0 degrees london, I don’t miss it a all! Ahem

Directed by Kahlil Joseph. The film, shot in L.A is beautifully is graded/colourised…  though sometimes with dark (I suspect honest) footage of kids and adults out and about.  I for one can’t wait to get my hands on the new album. Steve Ellison has talent…

What an awesome image… from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory shows Venus as it nears the disk of the sun on June 5, 2012.

Venus’s 2012 transit will be the last such event until 2117.

Gymnast: In Motion on Nowness.com.

The elegant movements and athletic prowess of five twirling trampolinists are captured in photographer Steve Harries’ new short film… beautiful sound track too, sounds like Portico Quartet, is it?

An interesting alternative perspective on the city of London. Media artist Chris Meigh-Andrews has been commissioned to produce an ambient responsive outdoor installation on the Monument by Julian Harrap Architects. Visit the website and click on the ‘explore’ icon on the right of the page to see sequences from different days.
